This is the final chapter of "The Runaway Train" Series. We hope that this series has blessed you as much as it did us writing it; so you may understand the LOVE Christ has for each and every one of us…
and what it REALLY means to be FREE IN CHRIST.
I do not have to be on this train. I can be in the city and say “Lord it is not my ability”. It is His ability. For it is God who works in me, both to will, and to do of His good pleasure. (Phl 2:13)
The works we have to do, He will see to completion. We sit with Him in heavenly places. At Spiritual rebirth our spirit is seated with Him by Father. It is both a condition in which our spirit now exists and condition which I can be in, by being spiritual minded. See the prayer for us in Eph.1:17 is that our spiritual eyes might be opened so we can comprehend with our minds this position we are in. If Christ is seated high above all dominion and we are seated in Him then we are seated high above dominion in Him.
Why is this not a reality in my everyday life? Because my mind, which determines my reality is not fixed on this spiritual reality, and as I think so I am. The keyword is “in” Christ. That is a position our spirit already occupies for God put us there. It is however also a position our thinking keeps us away from. As long as I think this train of self effort will get me there either now or in the life to come, I am stuck right here, and my reality follows my thinking.
Father raised us and made us sit with Christ (Eph.2:6) In Him. This is where I am able, where I am more than a conqueror, where I am fulfilled, where no tears exist and abundance and healing is my part. My soul is so focused on the outward results that no matter how my spirit calls, my experience and circumstances dictates my reality and the train goes on and on.
The entering of this city can not come from my will. It can only come from my surrender to the finished work on the cross. My self effort tells me that I do not believe I should be at rest and voila, my reality is affected. Ephesians 1:3 is possible to make real in my life only if my soul takes hold of the truth of that rest, in Him. Look away from circumstances and confess with the mouth believing with the heart seated in Him. My life can be so different. (Heb 12:2)
Col 2:3 says that only in Him wisdom and richness of understanding exists. In our own will it’s like a piece of paper in a wind.
Now if my soul can grab this I am admonished by Col.3:1-3 to; after understanding this and making it mine, seek this understanding. I should exercise my mind as to where I actually am seated. If situations dictate me I should verbally address my situation and say “I am seated with Christ high above this situation”. I should exercise this thinking and apply it to my everyday life.
My seated position becomes evident in my works after exercising my mind in it. I will slowly start to produce, His fruit in my labor. Not my fruit, which is really nothing but the works of the flesh. His fruit is seen as His Spirit bares His fruit in my walk with Him. I am born again in the holy of holies. Now I have to exit into the holy place which is my soul and volition and bring the fruits of the Spirit to the outer court, the only place where the unbeliever is present. Here I should present the unbeliever with the life of Christ in me which is healing to all the nations. It is a spiritual concept and the healing is holistic, body, spirit and mind.
What must I do to get off the train? What is it I should do? When asked this of Jesus he answered that we should believe in Him, in what He is and what He has come to do.
(John 6:28-29)
The closing Act:
Believe and confess that I am raised with Him; the train starts to slow down.
Believe that I am already seated high above dominion with Hi; the train slows down more.
I am not the head of my own body. The train stops.
I must sit where I am seated and not try to accomplish anything. The doors open.
I must stand in His finished work. I get out.
I declare victory over whatever comes my way. I stand outside.
Relinquish control over my life and allow Him. I am in the city.
Rom 6:6-12 “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof”.
Amen, selah.
Stay blessed,
Pst. Werner Horné.
